December 15, 2010 ALMONT — Almont made visiting Rochester Hills Lutheran Northwest absorb a 48-43 loss in a non-conference varsity boys' basketball game on Tuesday, December 7.
With the decision, Almont improves to 1-0 overall.
In Tuesday's game, Almont spotted Rochester Hills Lutheran Northwest a 14-13 edge after one quarter was complete.
The middle two quarters saw Rochester Hills Lutheran Northwest amass 23 total points, while holding Almont to 19.
That made it 37-32, Rochester Hills Lutheran Northwest with 24 minutes into the record books.
Almont then outscored Rochester Hills Lutheran Northwest 16-6 the rest of the way, good enough for a 48-43 win when the final buzzer sounded.
For Almont, Cody Gelinski led the way with 13 points. He was given assistance in the scoring department by John Finn (seven points), Paul Boughner (six, featuring a pair of treys), Andrew McNally (six), Aaron May and Lucas Voss (five each), Nick Grundner (four) along with Brent Gibbs (two).
Almont also received 10 rebounds courtesy of Gelinski.
