ALMONT — Longtime resident and newspaperman Tom Sadler Sr. passed away on Tuesday, December 7. He was born in Muskegon on August 28, 1930, one of four children of Claude and Ruth Sadler.

Well known around town, Sadler purchased the Almont Times Herald in 1957 and later founded the Tri-City Times, which incorporated the Capac Journal and covered the communities of Almont, Dryden, Capac and Imlay City.

Sadler married his high school sweetheart, Nola, in 1950. Nola passed away in May of 2007.

The couple leaves behind sons Tom (Diane) Sadler of Dryden, Tim (Teena) Sadler of Almont and Ted (Amy) Sadler of Imlay City and daughter Mari Lynn of Almont and nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Visitation will take place at Muir Funeral Home in Almont from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Friday. The funeral will take place at 1 p.m. on Sat., Dec. 11.
