Paupert, Burkland turn in strong showings at Detroit Turkey Trot

TRI-CITY AREA — Dryden's Selina Paupert needed 45:13 to go the distance and Dryden's Hillary Mason required 52:10 to cover the territory, leaving themselves with respective showings of 449th and 1,340th last Thursday at the Fifth Third Turkey Trot 10K Run in Detroit.

Amber Fiore, Almont, 3,362nd, 59:57; Lynne Fiore, Almont, 3,457th, 1:00:15; Linda Hartzman, Imlay City, 4,445th, 1:03:59; Debra Mason, Dryden, 5,201st, 1:08:35; Kristy Gibson-Marshall, Dryden, 5,521st, 1:11:13; Kelly Miller, Almont, 5,774th, 1:14:13; and Monica Valentine-Bickel, 5,771st, 1:17:47; rounded out the list of Tri-City female finishers on hand.

Jack Hund, of Imlay City, generated the best showing among Tri-City male entrants. He stopped the watch at 48:13 en route to 705th.

John Heitchue, Allenton, 860th, 49:16; Lane Hurd, Almont, 1,087th, 50:40; Jesse Yarbrough, Imlay City, 2,631st, 57:13; Steve Iskendrian, Dryden, 4,779th, 1:05:42; and Eric Schwalbe, Imlay City, 5,646th, 1:12:34; also went the distance that day.

In the 5K Run, David Burkland of Almont registered the swiftest showing among Tri-City male entrants. He crossed the finish-line 17:18 after the starter's gun fired, good enough for 10th.

Trevor Edie, Allenton, 69th, 20:05; David Thomas, Almont, 200th, 23:02; Dale Edie, Allenton, 248th, 23:43; John Biolchini, Almont, 370th, 24:46; Tom Rinke, Almont, 421st, 25:09; Marc Allison, Imlay City, 741st, 27:13; Jim Allison, 1,401st, 29:32; Michael Stamm, Imlay City, 1,665th, 30:20; and Ron Schapman, Almont, 4,111th, 37:45; also went the distance.

Clare Biolchini, of Almont, paced all Tri-City female 5K entrants that day. Her time of 27:28 paved the way to a 794th-place showing.

Ashley McCallumore, Allenton, 3,031st, 34:01; Valerie Rinke, Almont, 3,418th, 35:09; Audrey Paupert, Dryden, 3,489th, 35:24; Patti Koenig, Imlay City, 3,663rd, 35:58; Erica Packard, 4,444th, 39:18; Alicia Smith, Almont, 4,625th, 40:27; and Julie Allison, Imlay City, 6, 390th, 1:03:18; also competed.
