October 27, 2010 IMLAY CITY — An Instant Alert message sent to parents in the school district regarding a report the school district received about an attempted abduction of a student turned out to be a hoax.
The Instant Alert system was activated early Monday evening after a middle school boy told police someone tried to snatch in the 200 block of West First Street as he was walking home from school that afternoon.
Less than 24 hours later, police determined there was no truth to the boy's story. The school district has issued another Instant Alert to inform parents of the findings.
