TRI-CITY AREA — Capac accomplished what few around thought they could, earning a surprising 2-1 win at visiting Almont's expense in a Blue Water Area Conference varsity boys' soccer battle last Wednesday afternoon.
The outcome marked the first time since Capac began its soccer program during the 2007 campaign that they were able to best Almont.
Following the halftime break, Capac regained the lead at 2-1 when Kyle Roosen converted a rebound in front of Almont's net.
Roosen's tally would prove the game-winner as neither side would score again.
Manuel Morales had a busy afternoon in net as Capac's goalkeeper. Morales was credited with a 28-save outing.
Almont went with two different goalies over the course of the BWAC nailbiter. Trevor Owen worked the first half and had four saves and Wes Hall played half number two where he managed five saves.
