Fall activities fill calendar in Imlay City

September has been a busy month here in Imlay City. Two major festivals took place at the Imlay City Fairgrounds bringing in thousands of visitors from all over. Woods N' Water and the Festival of Gourds took place over the past two weekends.
Extreme Dance Studio also held their grand re-opening celebration to welcome dancers to their new studio on Third Street. At our last Lunch N' Learn we recognized Nancy Maltby - State Farm for being in business 20 years this year!
Fall activities and Christmas event planning in Imlay city are in full swing here at the Imlay City Area Chamber of Commerce. We are proud to host our annual merchant Trick or Treat this year as well as our Christmas Parade and Customer Appreciation Day.
We are also excited that the Imlay City DDA is planning a new Oktoberfest for October 15th and 16th in conjunction with Imlay City Schools homecoming.

Dunk For a Cure
Imlay City Kroger will host this breast cancer fundraiser from noon to 4 p.m. Buy 3 balls for $5 to try and dunk Kroger employees, Imlay City Firefighters and other brave volunteers.

Downtown Imlay City
Drop by the 4:30 p.m. tailgate party on Third St. in front of Kelly's Pet Salon and Sportsman Barbershop on Friday. Bring your own tailgate munchies and refreshments. The Homecoming parade starts at 6 p.m. Free popcorn will be served up by CSB Bank.
On Saturday, a 5K run, sponsored by KC Insurance, begins at 9 a.m. The Rotary Beer Tent opens at 11 a.m. where they'll be serving German beer and food. The Oktoben Band takes the stage at 7 p.m.
Other daytime activities include a pumpkin carving contest, dancing by Extreme Dance, free balloons by PNC Bank, scarecrow decorating contest.

'Merchant Trick or Treat Day'
11:00 a.m - 1:00 p.m.
It is that special time of year again when ghosts and goblins are welcome to 'Trick or Treat' at Imlay City area businesses. We will kick off the event with Extreme Dance performing 'If I Only Had A Brain' from the Wizard of Oz. Afterward we will begin the trick or treating. So dress up and bring your trick or treat bags while visiting local area businesses. A list of participating businesses will be posted online and in the newspaper prior to the event. Goodwill will also be holding their annual half off the entire store sale from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
