CAPAC — Capac outscored their opposition by a combined 56-11 count, paving the way to a first-place finish among 14 and Under Division entrants at the Capac All-Star Softball Tournament this past weekend.
The team opened tournament play with an 11-1 win Friday against Imlay City.
On Saturday, Capac's success would continue. It was there they improved to 3-0, thanks to a 7-3 victory over Dryden and a 12-2 triumph against North Branch.
Capac followed it up with a 14-0 win over North Branch and a 12-5 victory against Imlay City Sunday, assuring themselves of a number one finish.
Ayla Starr, Kayla Brecht, Jessica Old, Mikaela Parski, Kaitlynn Aguinaga, Alex Hull, Stacy Dean, Kelsey Vanlerberghe, Sam Closurdo, Emily Milostan and Dayna Ball comprised Capac's championship roster. The team was guided to their top finish by Bud Brecht, Mike Dean and Darrell Ball.
