TRI-CITY AREA — Residents are cleaning up after a severe thunderstorm blew through Thursday night. Residents lost power and several trees and branches fell victim to the strong winds.
According to DTE Energy, more than 1,000 customers in the Almont area were still without power at 1 p.m. on Friday. Residents in Berlin Township, Imlay City and Attica were also experiencing scattered outages.
The National Weather Service in White Lake reported that 1.38 inches of rain had been recorded in Attica as of Friday morning.
A trained spotter in Armada estimated that wind gusts reached 70 miles per hour around 6:15 p.m.
