TRI-CITY AREA — As many as 67,000 area residents may be without land line phone service Thursday afternoon, July 8, says the Lapeer County Office of Emergency Management.

Frontier Telephone Company (formerly Verizon), notified the OEM that outages may be occurring across Lapeer, St. Clair and Macomb counties.

According to a press release, Frontier repair technicians are en route to the affected areas. There are no estimates with regard to when service will be restored.

Residents are being advised to check their land lines to see if they're in working order, and if not to make sure there is a fully charged cell phone available.
