June 16, 2010 TRI-CITY AREA — Detours and road closures will be a common site this week and in the weeks to come.
The M-53 detour in Almont Township should last until Friday, June 25. The total closure at Hollow Corners Road has traffic taking other north/south routes including Graham/Glover Road and M-24, in addition to numerous gravel roads.
Crews are working around the clock to replace a box culvert and repave the bridge.
Elsewhere in Lapeer County, the road commission has said a cross tube on Wheeling Road in Imlay Twp. between Petz and Bowers roads will be replaced on Monday, June 21. The road has been closed to traffic since this spring. Wheeling Road should re-open to all traffic by Tuesday afternoon.
In Goodland Twp., Brown City Road between Crowe and Shaw roads will be shut down on Wednesday, June 23. The road should reopen for southbound traffic on Thursday afternoon.
