Imlay City, Armada halve games

IMLAY CITY — The Imlay City varsity softball team split a Blue Water Area Conference doubleheader versus visiting Armada on Tuesday, May 25.

In the opener, Armada claimed a 2-0 win at Imlay City's expense.

There Imlay City was held hitless.

In the nightcap, Imlay City bounced back to secure a 1-0 victory over Armada.

Erin Combs was Imlay City's pitcher of record. Combs threw a no-hitter, including a pair of strikeouts.

Olivia Leonardi led off the first inning with a triple and Chelsea Thompson safely squeezed her home to account for the lone Imlay City run.

Alyssa Dawson (two singles), Combs (a triple) and Terra Volmering (a single) supplied the remaining Imlay City basehits.

With the results, Imlay City finishes 10-4 in the BWAC for third behind Armada (12-2) and Cros-Lex (11-3).
