TRI-CITY AREA — The Capac, Almont and Imlay City golf teams turned in respective showings of third, sixth and eighth last Thursday at a Division 3 district hosted by Holly Meadows Golf Course.

The top-six teams plus the lowest six individuals not on any of those squads advance to this Thursday's regionals set for The Fortress Golf Course in Frankenmuth.
Four other schools competed at the district level. Their ranks consisted of Richmond (344), Imlay City (349), Allen Park Cabrini (358) and Clawson (379).

For Almont, which earned their first-ever team regional qualifying berth, Brett Gors' 80 set the pace. He was backed by Brett McDonald (83), Adam Bacheller (87) and Jason McKelvey (89).
Drew Schultz (82) and Brenan Hopkins (86) will tee it up as individual qualifiers for Imlay City at the upcoming regionals in Frankenmuth. The Spartans also counted Shane Lesniak's 87 and Mitchell Tietz's 94.
