TRI-CITY AREA — Almont downed visiting Capac, 7-0, in a Blue Water Area Conference varsity girls' soccer encounter contested under ominous skies last Wednesday afternoon.
There Almont used a 2-0 opening half edge and a 5-0 second half advantage to emerge victorious.
Jelena Rosenberg (set up by Kaylin Deppe), Carlie Lawrence (assisted by Hailee Hovis), Chelsea Dudek (set up by Emily Armbruster), Rosenberg (assisted by Sandra Ranucci), Hovis (set up by Armbruster), Hillary Cooper (assisted by Emily Tabor) and Deppe (unassisted) supplied Almont's goals.
Kayla Phillips went the distance as Almont's goalie. She was credited with eight saves.
Sam Rumbauh and Taylor Podschwit shared the goalkeeping chores for Capac. They combined for 22 saves.
