TRI-CITY AREA — The Imlay City varsity baseball team split a Blue Water Area Conference doubleheader versus visiting Almont, taking the opener 4-1 and dropping the nightcap 6-1 on Tuesday, May 4.

In the opener, Chaz Hill was Imlay City's pitcher of record. Hill allowed three hits, struck out four and walked four over the seven-inning distance.

Game number two saw Almont claim a 6-1 victory at Imlay City's expense.

There Erik O'Connor got the win for Almont. He allowed one hit and struck out six.

Eric Harbin led Imlay City's offense on the day, contributing three singles. Their remaining hits went to Mason Scully (a double) along with Tyler Ayers, Nathan Quintana, Ben Rodak, Ethan Walker and Hill (a single apiece).

Tyler Wiggins paced Almont, finishing with three singles. The Raiders also had O'Connor (a single and a double), Evan Shelton (a double) along with Dennis Harrow and Mike Grundner (a single each) reach the hitting column.
