April 28, 2010 We applaud the efforts of good people with good ideas who do all they can to get something going to benefit the community.
The weekend Recipe Walk and Imlay City Expo offered a couple of reasons for community members to get out and see what's going on around town.
Unfortunately even the best promotion and planning can't guarantee the cooperation of Mother Nature. The dreary, wet weekend may have kept some people indoors but it shouldn't dampen the spirits of those who participated in the events; those who made the most of what Imlay City has to offer.
Communities need community support to survive and these events—and others slated to happen in the coming months—are designed to create interest and foster a sense of neighborhood and belonging.
The individuals, business owners, retailers and entrepreneurs who participated in the weekend events are doing their part. It's obvious that there are plenty of good people with good ideas right here in the Tri-City area. We urge community members to complete the picture and keep those ideas and efforts rolling for the longterm benefit of all.
