IMLAY CITY — A pair of Imlay City Titan grapplers found themselves among the placewinners at the NUWAY (National United Wrestling Association for Youth) National Championships contested recently.
The tournament was contested in Battle Creek on April 17.
Luke Stephens, representing Team Michigan, took first place in the 7-8 age group at 56 pound.
It marked the second straight year Stephens has won a national title.
Dakota Sandzik, representing Team Michigan, ranked fifth in the 5-6 age group at 47 pounds.
Both of the aforementioned grapplers were named All-Americans for their accomplishments.
Dakota Sandzik, of Imlay City, took fifth at the National NUWAY Championships. Dakota placed in the 47-lb weight class, age group 5-6 years old.
Their teammate Evan Sutton also qualified for the NUWAY Nationals, but did not place.
