Imlay City tops Capac


Baseball squads square off for bragging rights

TRI-CITY AREA — Imlay City swept visiting Capac, 5-1 and 13-3, in a Blue Water Area Conference varsity baseball doubleheader last Thursday.

With the results, Imlay City raises its mark to 3-3 and 2-0.

In the opener, Chaz Hill, Ethan Walker and John Loveless led Imlay City with one hit each.

Loveless also contributed two RBI to Imlay City's cause.

Kyle Maliszewski was the winning Imlay City pitcher. He allowed four hits, struck out seven and walked three over the seven-inning distance.

Sean Woods (two hits and one RBI) and Mike Burgess (two hits) accounted for Capac's four-hit output.

In the nightcap, Chaz Hill paced Imlay City with two basehits. The Spartans also received one basehit apiece from Eric Harbin, Jordan McNary, Mason Scully, Ben Rodak, Walker and Loveless.

Hill was Imlay City's pitcher of record. He scattered seven hits, struck out three and walked three over the seven-inning distance.

Austin Peak (four) and Woods (two) led Capac with multiple-hit performances. The remaining Chief hit went to Burgess.
