Imlay boys too much for Capac in track matchup

TRI-CITY AREA — Imlay City claimed an 87-50 win against visiting Capac in a Blue Water Area Conference boys' track encounter last Wednesday.

Aaron Thompson, high jump, 5 feet 8 inches; Kevin Shene, pole vault (12 feet 3 inches) and 400 dash (54.21 seconds); William Guldi, shot put, 40 feet 10 1/2 inches; Robert Huff, discus, 105 feet 4 inches; Cole Nishimiya, 110-meter hurdles, 17.79 seconds; Branden Diplock, 300 hurdles, 45.12 seconds; Kyle Guerrero, 800-meter run, 2:23.54; and Alan Manjarrez, 1600 run, 5:01.86; paced Imlay City with individual event firsts.

The Imlay City 800 and 3200-meter relays also prevailed. They were timed in 1:37.72 and 9:23.29, respectively.

Diplock, long jump, 17 feet 2 1/4 inches; Craig Cutler, shot put, 38 feet 2 inches; Matthew Chrzanowski, discus, 103 feet 5 inches; E.J. Webster, 110-meter hurdles, 18.15 seconds; Nishimiya, 300 hurdles, 47.48 seconds; Chane Forsyth, 200 (26.27 seconds) and 400-meter (55.81 seconds) dashes; and Troy Harbin, 1600 run, 5:14.84; generated Imlay City's seconds.

Imlay City also received thirds courtesy of Matt Van Dyk, high jump, 5 feet 4 inches; Diplock, pole vault (11 feet 6 inches) and 110-meter hurdles (18.17 seconds); Collin Cronin, long jump, 17 feet 1 1/2 inches; Nick Reis, 100 dash, 12.27 seconds; Patrick Ngow, 300-meter hurdles, 48.67 seconds; Noah Freel, 800 run, 2:32.86; and Van Dyk, 1600-meter run, 5:21.84.

Sean O'Brien, long jump, 17 feet 10 1/4 inches; Eric Withun, 100 (11.95 seconds) and 200-meter (25.8 seconds) dashes; and Joe Cutino, 3200 run, 12:21.02; led Capac with individual event firsts.

The Capac 400 (Travis Tullio, Nick Osborn, O'Brien and Withun) and 1600 (Tyler Sawicki, Chris Paluch, Brian Kulman and Withun) relays also emerged victorious. They stopped the watch at 46.86 seconds and 3:55.49, respectively.

O'Brien, high jump, 5 feet 6 inches; Osborn, 100-meter dash, 12.00 seconds; Paluch, 800 run, 2:24.85; and John Nothaft, 3200-meter run, no time available; collected Capac's seconds.

Ryan Carter, shot put (36 feet 6 inches) and discus (102 feet), Osborn, 200-meter dash, 26.5 seconds; and Alex Nahorodney, 400-meter dash, 58.32 seconds; added thirds to Capac's cause.
