April 21, 2010 ALMONT — Almont improved to 2-0 overall, including a 1-0 Blue Water Area Conference showing, with a 5-3 win against visiting league rival Richmond on Tuesday, April 13.
In individual action, Bobbi Enos registered a 6-0, 6-0 triumph against Megan Russell at first singles; Michelle Fox netted a 6-3, 6-0 second flight win over Andrea DeCraene; Brooke Streber secured a 6-1, 6-4 victory against Brooke Boss at third singles; and Sierra Grant obtained a 6-3, 6-1 fourth flight triumph over Holly Uhl.
As far as doubles play was concerned, Jaime Ligon and Jessica Dayton claimed a 6-7 (2-7), 6-2, 6-3 win against Ashley Tocco and Nora Faatiga at first doubles; Jillian Zygmontowicz and Katie Dobbs fell by a 7-6 (7-4), 2-6, 4-6 second flight count to Katie West and Anabella Ottenbacher; Olivia Papineau and Miranda Offner dropped a 1-6, 1-6 verdict to Sam Pedri and Chelsea Gurzick at third doubles; plus Krissy Fulton and Maddie Burns fell by a 3-6, 5-7 fourth flight verdict to Niki Romatz and Brittaney Pollauf.
