Imlay City girls' track team nets second in season-opening quad

IMLAY CITY — The Imlay City girls' track team took second in a quadrangular meet hosted by North Branch on Wednesday, March 31.

When the final scores were posted, North Branch's 91-point total proved best. They were followed by Imlay City (69 points), Chesaning (68.5) and Lakeville (25.5).

Taelor Webb, 100 (13.37 seconds), 200 (28.49 seconds) and 400 (1:05.78) dashes; led Imlay City with individual event firsts.

The Imlay City 400 and 1600-meter relays claimed firsts as well. It took them 56.34 seconds and 4:52.78,

respectively, to accomplish the feat.

Stephanie Francis, pole vault, 7 feet 6 inches; Jennifer Jerzewski, long jump, 13 feet 5 1/2 inches; Millie Velez, shot put, 27 feet 8 inches; Michelle Marcial, 300 hurdles, 55.25 seconds; and Jessica Stoey, 1600-meter run, 6:22.36; supplied Imlay City's seconds.

Velez, discus, 74 feet 9 inches; Jerzewski, 300 hurdles, 56.03 seconds; and Stoey, 800-meter run, 2:49.4; provided Imlay City with individual event thirds.

The Imlay City 800 relay pulled up third as well. The quartet required 2:09.22 to cover the territory.
