April 07, 2010 CAPAC—The Capac girls' and boys' track teams had a strong showing at the Kearsley Early Bird Relays last Wednesday.
The girls' team finished 2nd with 74 points to the winning team of Saginaw Valley Lutheran with 114. Byron, Powers Catholic and Flint Northwestern finished out the remaining team standings.
Capac placed first with their 4x100 relay team of Bower, Meyer, Detroyer and Polzin. Polzin also won the pole vault, clearing 7' 6".
Capac recorded a second place finish with thier discus relay team of Dalecki and Parent.
Third place finishes came from Capac's shuttle hurdle relay team of Polzin, Nason, Peyerk and Spencer. Also scoring third place was Spencer and Bryant in the high jump relay, with Dalecki and Parent winning the shot put relay.
The Capac boys' team placed third overall with 86 points, behind Saginaw Valley Lutheran (114), and Byron (96). Powers Catholic and Flint Northwestern recorded fourth and fifth place finishes.
Placing first for the boys was Winsor, Desmit, Harteveld and Sammut in the shuttle hurdle relay. The pole vault relay was won by Sawicki and Kulman.
A second place finish came in the 4x100 relay team of Osborn, Nahorodney, Sawicki and O'Brien. The team of Paluch, Kulman, Misch, and Sawicki turned in a second in the 4x400 relays, as well as a second from Carter and White in the shot put relay.
Thirds were recorded by O'Brien, Osborn and Nahorodney in the 4x100 relay, the throwers' relay team of A. Morgan, J. Morgan, White and Carter, and discus relay team of Carter and White.
