Some Almont is at Augusta!
Golf pro using Aristo Cast putter in tourney, sales of Pink Lady Putter will benefit Relay for Life
April 07, 2010ALMONT — When South African golfer Retief Goosen walks the Augusta National course in Georgia this week during the Masters Tournament, a little bit of Almont will be walking with him.
Last week, the crew at Aristo Cast Investment Casting put a custom made putter in the mail for Goosen to use in time for the Masters.
Goosen is a two-time U.S. Open Champion and he'll be making his twelfth Masters appearance.
Aristo Cast President Michelle Walla said the family-owned company is proud to work with professionals, semi-pros and other avid golfers on custom designed clubs.
At the moment, they're particularly proud of the Pink Lady Putter, a licensed pink product for which a portion of the proceeds benefit breast cancer research.
This is the second year they have donated one 36 inch, right handed Pink Lady Putter for this year's Lapeer County Relay for Life silent auction. The Relay will be held at the Eastern Michigan Fairgrounds on June 12-13.
For every Pink Lady they sell from now until the Relay, Aristo Cast will donate $10 of the $65 putter price back to the Relay, Walla said.

Walla said cancer has touched their family and their employee's families too.
"We need to raise as much money as we can for this cause," she said.
Aristo Cast originally created the pink putter last year for a breast cancer golf benefit. Two of the putters were donated as door prizes and they've since donated several of the clubs to charitable events and organizations. Eventually, they decided to turn the pink putter into a regular product and dubbed it the Pink Lady.
Walla said despite the putter's color and 'lady' moniker, there are some male golfers who proudly use the Pink Lady.
"Golf is a very big thing in Michigan and with a lot of lady golfers, this would be a hit," Walla said of the putter.
"So far, everyone has said they love the way the putter works. It's exciting."
Through their Web site, www.aristo-cast.com, the company now offers 'Design your own putter' services. They except either math data or wax carvings.
