Plenty of points put up on board in Capac alumni girls' hoop clash
March 03, 2010Players seeing their high school careers wind down during the odd-numbered years outpointed those who graduated in even numbered years, 68-46, in the Second Annual Capac Girls' Alumni Basketball Game last Saturday.
In Saturday's battle, the Odd team charged out to a 9-0 advantage with 3:23 elapsed.
The remaining six minutes-plus of quarter number one would see the Even squad counter with an 11-6 run.
That made it 15-11, in favor of the Odd team, after one quarter was into the record books.

Quarter number two would see both sides give the scoreboard operator plenty of work as well.
It was there the Odd team deposited 16 points through the twines, while allowing the Even squad 13.
That made it 31-24, in favor of the Odd team, at the halftime break.
When the action resumed, the Odd team established some much-needed breathing room.
Aided by a 21-9 third quarter advantage, the Odd team opened up a 52-33 cushion with one quarter left.
The Odd team then outscored the Even squad 16-13 from the point on, assuring themselves of a favorable 68-46 outcome.
Amanda Gonzalez, Sharon Thacker, Julie Randall, Jessica Blackstock, Jerrica Polzin, Tanya Huss, Brenda Camire, Sue Glombowski and Connie Kleeves suited up for the Odd team that evening.
Kaylee Bollaert, Bethany Duquette, Lindsey Koehn, Melanie Koehn, Jen Abel Johnson, Ann Marie Meikle, Daniela Holzer, Darci Robinson Breslin, Traci Robinson Fox, Kelly Cutcher, Gloria Polzin and Janie Zimmer formed the Even squad's roster.
