When the action resumed, Almont padded its cushion some.
Aided by a 14-9 third quarter edge, Almont forged a 34-25 advantage at the 24-minute mark.
Almont then outscored Algonac 15-3 during the last eight minutes of action, putting the finishing touches on a 49-28 win.
Nikki Heim managed 16 points, including three trifectas, and Tasha Evans finished with 15 to lead Almont. Taylor Askins (10 points, featuring a trey) hit for double figures as well. The Raiders also had Dani Reid (a triple), Katie Porter and Brittany Schmalzel (two each) along with Nicole Gibson (one).
Heidi Highstreet paced Algonac. Highstreet finished with a nine-point performance.
