ALMONT — Ben McNally finished with 26 points, including a 16 of 19 effort from the foul-line, to lead visiting Almont to a 64-60 win against Armada in a Blue Water Area Conference varsity boys' basketball matchup on Tuesday, February 16.
With the outcome, Almont moves to 7-9 and 4-6. Armada falls to 13-2 and 8-2.
In Tuesday's matchup, Armada took a 19-11 lead after one quarter was complete.
The next eight-minute stretch saw Almont generate 25 points, while allowing Armada 13.
That made it 36-32, Almont, at the halftime break.
When the action resumed, Almont struck with a 10-9 third quarter edge.
That left Almont holding a 46-41 lead at the 24- minute mark.
Armada then outscored Almont 19-18 the rest of the way, only to drop a 64-60 verdict at night's end.
Brett McDonald posted the second highest Almont point total that night, accumulating 14. The Raiders also had Cody Gelinski (nine points, including three trifectas), Brent Gibbs (seven, featuring two treys) along with Aaron May, Andrew McNally, Dillon Melly and Brad Showalter (two each) reach the scoring column.
Jake Moegle paced Armada with 27 points. Moegle drained six triples en route.
