Art project a creative improvement for Almont

Congratulations to Almont Downtown Development Authority Director Nancy Boxey, Almont High School art teacher Michelle Pascal and the young artists who decided to brighten up a vacant storefront with their creative endeavors.

Located right at the 'four corners,' on the southwest corner of Main and St. Clair streets, the colorful Almont Art storefront is much more welcoming and eye-catching than an empty building. It has given a spark of life to downtown Almont, and now the entire community—and passersby—can enjoy and appreciate the artistic talent of Almont students.

Downtown Development Authority Director Nancy Boxey provided assistance for the project, and is open to the idea of working with the art project to warm up other empty storefronts downtown.

Though it would be ideal if merchants, restaurateurs or business owners would occupy the empty storefronts downtown, the student art project helps brighten the busy corner and is a creative way to enhance the downtown district and showcase the community's young artists in the meantime. Congratulations to Boxey, Pascal and the students for conceiving an idea that noticeably improves the look of Almont's historic downtown.
