CAPAC — Host Capac opened up a commanding 31-11 cushion at the halftime break, laying the foundation for a 56-31 triumph against Cros-Lex in a Blue Water Area Conference varsity boys' basketball encounter last Friday night.
With the final, Capac goes to 8-2 and 5-1. Cros-Lex falls to 6-4 and 3-3.

In Friday's encounter, Capac let it be known from the outset that they had brought their 'A' game to the floor.
Capac drove that well-taken point across, jumping out to a 9-4 advantage with 2:54 elapsed.
That cushion would grow to 15-8 at the end of one quarter of play.
The next eight-minute stretch saw Capac establish even more breathing room.
Aided by a 16-3 advantage there, Capac took an imposing 31-11 lead at the halftime break.
When play resumed, Capac padded its cushion some.
Thanks to a 13-9 third quarter edge, Capac opened up a 44-20 advantage at the 24-minute mark.
Capac then outscored Cros-Lex 12-11 the rest of the way, only to fall short by a 56-31 count when the clock zeroed out for the last time.
Matt Burgess led Capac with 24 points, including two field goals of the three-point variety. Josh Harvey (seven points), Mitchell Parks (six), Josh Messner (four, featuring a trey), Sean O'Brien (four), Adam Sermo (a triple), Andrew Sammut (three), Mike Burgess and Anthony Closurdo (two each) along with Scott Holland (one).
In addition to his scoring prowess, Matt Burgess also paced Capac as far as rebounds were concerned. Burgess pulled down 11 missed shots.
Harvey added eight assists to Capac's cause.
Anthony Mini topped Cros-Lex's scoring attack. He netted 10 points.
