ALMONT — The Almont varsity boys' basketball team saw to it that they would not go home disappointed, registering a 50-40 triumph against Parkway Christian in the title tilt of the Cardinal Mooney Holiday Basketball Tournament Monday night.
With the outcome, Almont ups its mark to 2-3 overall.
Almont reached the title tilt with a 60-54 semifinal win against Cardinal Mooney last Saturday night.
In the championship encounter, Ben McNally and Dillon Melly proved Almont's toughest players to contain. They finished with 16 points apiece.
Cody Gelinski added a nine-point performance to Almont's cause.
Almont returns to action this Tuesday when it hosts league favorite Armada in a Blue Water Area Conference matchup.
