IMLAY CITY — Kimberly Marrone has been named the Chamber of Commerce's new executive director.
Marrone, an Almont resident, was hired last week and started on the part-time job Thursday.

"It's been very exciting," Marrone said on Monday of meeting chamber members and gearing up for events.
Marrone, who has experience in marketing, human resources and sales, said the job is "a really good fit for me."
She said her immediate plans are to connect with current members, ensure they're getting the most for their membership and attract new members.
Marrone has a bachelor's degree in marketing from Oakland University and worked most recently as a realtor with Century 21 AAA North and substitute teacher for Lapeer Community Schools. For several years, Marrone was active with the Romeo Relay for Life.
She'll be in the Chamber of Commerce office from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.on Mondays, Wednesday and Fridays. Contact her at the offices at 724-1361 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
In the meantime, Marrone will stay busy with upcoming chamber events, including the Merchants Trick or Treat on October 31, board elections, the Christmas parade on December 4 and the December 5 Dinner Dance.
