Almont hands Imlay City a setback

TRI-CITY AREA — Almont handed host Imlay City an 8-0 setback in a Blue Water Area Conference boys' tennis confrontation on Tuesday, September 22.

In individual action, Matt Bulger netted a 6-1, 6-0 win against Drew Schultz at first singles; Alex Schubert registered a 6-1, 6-3 second flight triumph against Shane Lesniak; Domenic Curtis rallied for a 6-7 (6-8), 6-0, 6-4 victory over Jeff Randall at third singles; and Mitch Potapa claimed a 6-2, 6-2 fourth flight win against Brenan Hopkins.

As far as doubles play was concerned, Brad Lowell and Shane Rickman obtained a 6-2, 6-4 triumph over Steve McNary and Joe Duquette at first doubles; Terry Papineau and Jason McKelvey secured a 6-0, 6-1 second flight victory against Joe Rettell and Kyle Strohm; Brian Houghton and Jake Matthews generated a 6-2, 6-2 win over Tyler Nichols and William Guldi at third doubles; plus Mike Kendziora and Ian Saba furnished a 6-1, 6-1 fourth flight triumph against Ethan Walker and Matt Van Dyk.
