ALMONT — The Almont varsity boys' tennis team claimed a 6-2 win against visiting Richmond in a Blue Water Area Conference matchup on Tuesday, September 8.
In individual action, Matt Bulger netted a 6-0, 6-2 top flight victory over Dustin Dagastino; Alex Schubert furnished a 6-3, 6-7, 6-2 triumph against Nick VanSimaeys at second singles; Domenic Curtis obtained a 2-6, 6-3, 6-4 third flight win over Billy Balsamo; and Mitch Potapa dropped a 3-6, 2-6 verdict to Mike Cass at fourth singles.
As far as doubles action was concerned, Brad Lowell and Shane Rickman generated a 5-7, 7-5, 6-3 top flight victory against J.J. Martin and Chris Gagleard; Terry Papineau and Jason McKelvey registered a 6-4, 6-0 triumph over Luke Beversdorf and Kaleb Schweiger at second doubles; Brian Houghton and Jake Matthews earned a 5-7, 6-4, 7-5 third flight win against Trevor Gott and Dave Schroudt; plus Ian Saba and Mike Kendziora fell by a 6-4, 1-6, 1-6 count to Kyle Wonsowicz and Adam Peterson at fourth doubles.
