ALMONT — Almont High School graduate Steve Brohl is listed on the roster of the Malone College football team this fall.

Malone College, located in Canton, Ohio, is a National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics school that competes in the Mid States Football Association.

Brohl, a 6-2 and 205-pound prospect, was redshirted his freshman campaign.

As a high school senior, Brohl completed 66 of 127 pass plays for 1,411 yards and 14 touchdowns during the 2007 campaign.

He also rushed for six touchdowns.

Brohl finished his second year as a starter on Almont's varsity as an All-Blue Water Area Conference first team selection and Associated Press Division 5-6 All-State honorable mention selection.

In addition to those honors, Brohl was the recipient of the Blue Water Area Conference's Most Valuable Offensive Player Award.

This fall Malone College will look to improve on last year's 6-4 overall showing. That included a 4-2 mark as far as conference clashes were concerned.

The team opens their 2009 slate September 5 when it hosts Apprentice (Virginia) College. That matchup lists a 1 p.m. starting time.
