LAPEER COUNTY — A gasoline spill at a station located at M-24 and Burnside Road has closed a portion of M-24, Lapeer County Emergency Management officials reported around noon today (Wednesday, July 22.)

Officials said a gasoline tanker truck spilled 3,000 gallons of fuel at the station. Evacuations were deemed unnecessary and an environmental cleanup agency has been contacted.

According to the report, M-24 is closed between Burnside and Barnes Lake roads, and residents are asked to seek an alternate route of travel.
