CAPAC — Capac Blue earned a second-place finish among 12 and Under Division entries at the Capac All-Star Baseball Tournament this past weekend.
The team started off what would prove to be a successful tournament run with a 13-5 win against Mayville last Friday.
The following day Capac Blue notched a 13-7 victory over Otisville; tied Capac Gold at eight runs apiece; and tied Brown City at 10 runs each.
Those results placed Capac Blue in Sunday's semifinals where Mayville provided their opposition.
When the final out was registered, Capac Blue claimed a 15-5 win at Mayville's expense.
Capac Blue then met Brown City for tournament honors next. That contest lasted eight innings with Brown City leaving the field with a 12-9 victory to their credit.
Nathan Lietz, Jordan Craig, Shane Pearson, Seth Lewis, Jacob Hurd, Nick Geliske, Ryan Rodzos, Marcus Sherman, Kyle Klug, Louis Aguinaga, Collin Kain, Scott Burns and Caleb Gerschick appeared on the roster of Capac's second-place team. They were coached by Robert Sherman, Mark Klug, Jose Aguinaga and Al Craig.
