July 22, 2009 If you're looking for free entertainment it's right around the corner in Almont and Imlay City.
On Thursdays at 7 p.m., Almont hosts a weekly Concert in the Park featuring local talent with a diverse range of musical styles. Events for kids are also included, and refreshments are available to round out the fun. That, of course, doesn't prohibit the possibility of packing a picnic basket for the evening.
Ditto for the Concerts in the Park in Imlay City, which occur every Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Lamb-Steele Park behind City Hall. Planned to offer something for all musical tastes, Imlay concerts also include a variety of genres and entertaining themes.
For families, Imlay City offers a movie night as well at no charge. 'Movies in the Park' run Thursdays at dusk, with tomorrow's feature 'Winn Dixie' sure to entertain animal lovers of all ages.
These free events are one of the perks of small town living and help foster a sense of community that helps make the Tri-City area a great place to live.
