Lawrence takes 15th in Volkslaufe 5K Race

Race featured 800 runners, several from Tri-City area

TRI-CITY AREA — The Tri-City Area had several competitors go the distance at the Volkslaufe 5K Run (actual distance was 3.011 miles when the course was measured) Saturday, July 4 in Frankenmuth.

Patrick Lawrence, of Almont, furnished the swiftest performance among the Tri-City Area contingent on hand.

Participating in the Male 18-23 age group, Lawrence pulled up ninth with a 16:38 clocking. He also ranked 15th overall.

Donald Tobias, of Almont, paced a trio of Tri-City competitors in the Male 14-17 age group.

He required 18:29 to cover the territory, placing him 14th in his age division and 43rd overall.

Cody Paupert, of Dryden, supplied the next best effort there.

He needed 20:47 to go the distance. That left him 34th among division entrants and 111th overall.

Evan Paupert, of Dryden, also competed in the age group.

Paupert stopped the watch at 22:34, laying the foundation for a 43rd among division entries and a 178th-place overall showing.

Andy Metz, of Imlay City, took 10th among Male 30-34 age group entries aided by a time of 22:29. That ranked him 189th overall.

Hillary Mason, of Dryden, claimed an 11th among Female 18-23 age division entries with a clocking of 23:17. She also placed 218th overall.

Denise Garner, of Almont, generated a fourth among Female 50-54 age group entries thanks to a time of 27:35. That ranked her 468th overall.

Ron Garner, of Almont, registered an 18th among Male 55-59 age division entries with a clocking of 28:06. He also placed 496th overall.

Vanessa Senyk, of Capac, wound up 18th among Female 35-39 age group entries thanks to a time of 30:53. That ranked her 645th overall.

Mariah Senyk, of Capac, supplied a 44th among Female 14-17 age division entries with a clocking of 31:44. She also placed 669th overall.

Audrey Paupert, of Dryden, pulled up 32nd among Female 40-44 age group entries thanks to a time of 33:53. That ranked her 708th overall.

Jack Paupert, of Dryden, contributed a 57th among Male 13 and Under division entries with a clocking of 33:32. He also placed 732nd overall.

Debby Mason, of Dryden, completed the list of Tri-City Area entries on hand.

Competing in the Female 45-49 age group, Mason logged a time of 36:36 en route to a 23rd. That ranked her 797th overall.
