July 15, 2009 IMLAY CITY — After the success of last month's first-ever "Night on the Downtown," the Downtown Development Authority is hosting a follow-up on Tuesday, July 21. And this time there's ice cream.
In addition to a special Farmers Market from 4-7 p.m. at the corner of Main and Third streets, CSB Bank will host its 2nd Annual "Ice Cream Social" from 6-8 p.m. at Lamb-Steele Park.
CSB Bank representative LuAnn Valdez said bank employees and volunteers will dish out ice cream to all takers, while supplies last.
"We're looking forward to doing this again," said Valdez. "It'll be a lot of fun and we're hoping a lot of kids will be there this year."
Speaking of kids, "The Amazing Clark" returns to the concert stage at Lamb-Steele Park at 7 p.m.; performing humor and mystifying feats of magic; much to the delight of kids and adults. Be sure to bring along blankets and lawn furniture to enjoy the show.
If it's really hot, you can take a dip in the nearby Alvin Norlin Memorial Swimming Pool, where kids can swim for just $1 from 6:30-9:30 p.m.
The July 21 event is the second of three scheduled Night on the Downtown activities this summer.
The next "Night" is on Tues., Aug. 25; when "Elvis" returns for a 7 p.m. show. Other activities are also planned.
