July 01, 2009 "Be kinder than necessary," the saying goes, and for some people that's not just t-shirt wisdom, it's a way of life.
We're getting the message lately that random or not, acts of kindness are appreciated more than ever—for the giver, the receiver and the reader of the tale. In a dark sea of bad news that's threatening to swallow our collective spirit, the stories of kindness that prevail are an inspiration to many, us included.
We'd like to keep the inspiration going and counter all the negativity with refreshing stories that remind us of the great spirit of human kindness.
We want to hear your good news. Whether it's a promotion at work, an innovation that's changed the way you do things, an act of kindness you've given or received, we want to hear about it—and so do our readers. They've told us so.
In the coming weeks we'll highlight these stories in a series of articles and/or columns to offer a welcome change of pace from all the doom and gloom.
Send your good news to the editor at firstname.lastname@example.org, 'indicate 'good news' in the subject line, or write to P.O. Box 248, Imlay City, MI 48446. Be sure to include a name and phone number where you can be reached during the day.
Join us in our effort to spread the word that it's easy, and free, to "be kinder than necessary."
