And his impact did not end there for Almont. He also returned a total of 23 punts and kicks for 718 yards.
Those aforementioned credentials enabled Zott to land Associated Press Division 5-6 All-State first team status as an All-Purpose player.
In addition to those accolades, Zott finished his second season on Almont's varsity as an All-Blue Water Area Conference first team selection and as the recipient of the league's Most Valuable Player Award.
He made the Tri-City Times All-Area first team lineup at the position as well.
Zott's talents were not limited to offense only.
Lining up as a defensive back, Zott finished with 60 tackles last fall. That included a pair of stops for a loss.
He also collected four pass deflections and two interceptions.
Zott completed his second full season on Almont's squad as an All-Blue Water Area Conference and Tri-City Times All-Area first team selection.
Almont finished the 2009 campaign with a 9-3 overall mark, a Division 5 regional title game appearance, a district championship and a 5-2 Blue Water Area Conference standing (which was good enough to tie Yale, Cros-Lex and Richmond for first place).
Zott will continue his football career at Lafayette University this fall.
He also enjoyed an impressive season with the Almont basketball team.
Zott generated 323 points over 21 contests, an average of 15.4 points per game, this winter.
That left him second on the Almont squad and out of those who earned a spot on The Tri-City Times All-Area first team lineup.
Zott also contributed 141 rebounds, handed off 93 assists and made 51 steals.
The guard wrapped up his second full season on Almont's varsity as an All-Blue Water Area Conference and Tri-City Times All-Area first team selection.
