Imlay City second at BWAC Meet
Cros-Lex wins title, Almont pulls up fourth in boys' competition
May 27, 2009elt TRI-CITY AREA — The Imlay City boys' track team amassed an 84-point output en route to a second-place showing Tuesday, May 19 at the Blue Water Area Conference League Meet hosted by Algonac High School.
Cros-Lex's 161-point total paced the field assembled. Imlay City (84 points), Algonac (82), Almont (78), Armada (48), Yale (42), Richmond (20) and Capac (12) held down places two through eight at meet's end.
Kevin Shene, pole vault, 11 feet 6 inches; led Imlay City with an individual event first.
The Imlay City 800-meter relay of D.J. Salet, Nick Nivison, Jonny Mosier and Shene also prevailed. They were timed in 1:36.26 en route.
Kirk Haberski, 100 dash, 11.36 seconds; and Joey Christunas, 300-meter hurdles, 42.95 seconds; gave Imlay City individual event seconds.
The Imlay City 1600 (Chane Forsyth, Nivison, Mosier and Shene) and 3200 (Kyle Guerrero, E.J. Radelt, Mosier and Nivison) relays wound up second as well. They registered clockings of 3:34.77 and 8:53.14, respectively.
Shene, 400-meter dash, 52.85 seconds; provided Imlay City with an individual event third.
The Imlay City 400 relay of Nick Reis, Nivison, Christunas and Salet wound up third as well. They were timed in 47.23 seconds en route.

Haberski, 200 dash (23.43 seconds) and 300-meter hurdles (43.83 seconds); plus Radelt, 1600 run, 4:50.8; managed Imlay City's fourths.
Rich Davis, pole vault, 10 feet 6 inches; and Radelt, 800-meter run, 2:07.28; contributed Imlay City's fifths.
Salet, long jump, 18 feet 3/4 inches; Mike Waller, shot put, 40 feet 7 inches; along with E.J. Webster, 110 (16.61 seconds) and 300 hurdles (44.99 seconds); rounded out the list of Imlay City placewinners with sixths.
Aaron Benton, high jump, 6 feet 3 inches; Ben Strouse, shot put (50 feet 8 1/2 inches) and discus (151 feet 3 inches); Don Tobias, 1600-meter run, 4:43.48; and Dylan Creger, 3200 run, 10:04.49; paced Almont with individual event firsts.
Dillon Melly, shot put (44 feet 10 inches) and discus (132 feet); provided Almont with seconds.
The 3200 relay gave Almont a third. It took them 8:57.19 to accomplish the feat.
Tobias, 3200-meter run, 10:11.56; managed the lone Almont fourth.
The 400 and 800 relays added sixths to Almont's cause. They were timed in 48.15 seconds and 1:42.98, respectively.
Tyler Sawicki, pole vault, 11 feet; led Capac with a third.
An 800-meter relay lineup furnished the next best Capac showing, taking fourth in 1:39.71.
A 1600 relay rounded out the list of Capac placewinners. They were timed in 3:46.23.
