Imlay City takes two games from Almont

TRI-CITY AREA — Imlay City swept host Almont, 11-0 and 12-2, in a Blue Water Area Conference varsity softball doubleheader last Thursday.

In the opener, Mikayla Pardon tossed a two-hitter and struck out 11 to lead Imlay City to the win.

Brianna Jackman and Alyssa Snyder led Imlay City with two singles apiece. Their remaining hits, all singles, went to Spencer Seaman, Terra Volmering, Brooke Medaugh, Chelsea Thompson and Pardon.

Tiana Houghton (a double) and Jessica Collins (a single) accounted for Almont's basehits.

In the nightcap, Sarah Slack and Snyder combined on a four-hitter with 11 strikeouts.

Alyssa Dawson (a single and a triple) put up Imlay City's best offensive numbers. She was given assistance in the hitting department by Chandler Katkic and Jackman (a single and a double each), Pardon and Medaugh (two singles apiece) along with Seaman, Volmering, Snyder and Thompson (a single each).

Lindsay Ladzinski (a triple), Erica Crawford (a double) along with Jackie Jessel and Erika Garant (a single apiece) supplied Almont's basehits.
