Capac turns back Imlay City, 5-3

TRI-CITY AREA — Capac earned a 5-3 road win against Imlay City in a Blue Water Area Conference varsity softball battle last Wednesday afternoon at Milagro Field.

With the decision, Capac moves to 9-6 and 5-2. Imlay City drops to 10-14 and 2-4.

In Wednesday's battle, Capac took advantage of a two-run fourth inning and a three-run sixth to prevail.

Imlay City countered with a one-run second inning and a two-run fifth.

Ashley Mousseau (a double and three RBI) and Jamie Green (a double and two RBI) put up Capac's best offensive numbers. They were backed by Laura Pewinski, Taylor Smith, Chelsea Botwin and Abby Aguinaga (a single apiece).

Mousseau was Capac's pitcher of record. She allowed seven hits, retired eight via the strikeout route and walked one along the way.

Alyssa Snyder paced Imlay City that day. Snyder belted a solo homer over the centerfield fence (the first over the fence homer since the field opened) and collected a single.

Imlay City had four other players reach the hitting column. Their ranks consisted of Alyssa Dawson (two singles), Spencer Seaman (a single and two RBI) along with Terra Volmering and Brianna Jackman (a single each).
