Imlay City girls' track squad ranks second in triangular meet it hosts

IMLAY CITY — The Imlay City girls' track team (58 points) finished ahead of Lakeville (22) and behind North Branch (92) in a triangular encounter it hosted on Tuesday, March 30.

Taelor Webb, 100 dash, 14.09 seconds; along with Mandy Lacertosa, 1600 (5:53.52) and 3200-meter (12:56.64) runs; provided Imlay City with individual event firsts.

The Imlay City 400 and 3200 relays also emerged victorious. They logged clockings of 57.47 seconds and 11:34.12, respectively, en route.

Stephanie Francis, pole vault, 7 feet; Bailey Clark, shot put, 26 feet 1 inch; and Michelle Marcial, 300-meter hurdles, 55.06 seconds; gave Imlay City individual event seconds.

The Imlay City 1600 relay pulled up second as well, requiring 4:51.81 to accomplish the feat.

Marcella Alu, long jump, 12 feet 11 inches; Taylor Lee, 100 dash, 14.46 seconds; Andrea Gould, 200-meter dash, 31.82 seconds; Webb, 400 dash, 1:08.02; and Ashton Tripp, 800-meter run, 2:58.53; collected Imlay City's thirds.

Jennifer Jerzewski, long jump, 12 feet 9 inches; Kelly Carland, shot put, 25 feet 1 inch; Clark, discus, 55 feet 11 inches; Marcial, 100 hurdles, no time available; Francis, 300-meter hurdles, 58.14 seconds; and Sarah Bennett, 800 run, 3:05.22; rounded out the list of Imlay City placewinners with fourths.
