Imlay boys off to good start

IMLAY CITY — The Imlay City boys' track team tallied 69 points, besting Lakeville (23) and finishing behind North Branch (83) in a non-league clash it hosted on Tuesday, March 30.

E.J. Radelt, 1600 (5:00.57) and 3200-meter (10:44.74) runs; led Imlay City with a pair of individual event firsts.

The Imlay City 3200 relay of Kyle Guerrero, Jonny Mosier, J.T. Clifton and Radelt took first as well. They logged a 9:05.51 clocking en route.

Kirk Haberski, high jump (5 feet 8 inches) and 300-meter hurdles (45.66 seconds); Kevin Shene, pole vault (10 feet 6 inches) and 400 dash (53.84 seconds); D.J. Salet, long jump, 18 feet 8 inches; Matthew Chrzanowski, discus, 100 feet 4 inches; E.J. Webster, 110-meter hurdles, 17.86 seconds; Mosier, 200 dash, 25.0 seconds; and Alan Manjarrez, 3200-meter run, 12:02.67; gave Imlay City individual event seconds.

The Imlay City 400 (Nick Nivison, Nick Reis, Joey Christunas and Salet), 800 (Salet, Nivison, Reis and Mosier) and 1600 (Chane Forsyth, Mosier, Nivison and Shene) relays wound up second as well. They turned in respective times of 48.21 seconds, 1:40.76 and 3:45.89 en route.

Aaron Thompson, high jump, 5 feet 4 inches; Dane Walker, discus, 97 feet 4 inches; Nivison, 100-meter dash, 12.12 seconds; Shene, 200 dash, 25.41 seconds; and Christunas, 300-meter hurdles, 45.94 seconds; provided Imlay City's thirds.

Imlay City also counted fourth-place finishes courtesy of Matt Van Dyk, high jump, 5 feet 4 inches; Branden Diplock, pole vault, 9 feet 6 inches; Mitchell Rheaume, 100 dash, 12.47 seconds; Haberski, 110-meter hurdles, no time available; Forsyth, 400 dash, 54.4 seconds; Guerrero, 800-meter run, 2:24.41; Clifton, 1600 run, 5:18.84; and Nick Overland, 3200-meter run, 12:09.8.
