IMLAY CITY — Imlay City used a 2-0 opening half edge and a 5-1 second half advantage to earn a 7-1 win against visiting Brown City in a non-league varsity girls' soccer clash last Wednesday afternoon.
With the final, Imlay City goes to 1-0 overall. Brown City falls to 0-1 this season.
Marcella Alu (set up by Taylor Lee) and Emily Morris (assisted by Morgan Lee) netted Imlay City's opening half goals. Those tallies came with 31:27 and 24:15 remaining, respectively.
Imlay City counted second half goals from Morgan Lee (set up by Ashley Guerrero), Morgan Lee (assisted by Taylor Lee), Catie Withun (set up by Alu), Taylor Lee (assisted by Jamie Hoffner) and Morgan Lee (set up by Taylor Lee). Those respective shots connected with 36:52 left; 35:37 to play; 24:16 left; 18:24 to play; and 10:17 left.
