Inning number four would see Capac pad its cushion.

Aided by a 4-0 advantage there, Capac increased their lead to 8-2.

The next inning would prove scoreless, bringing Capac that much closer to their goal of notching a season-opening win at Brown City's expense.

Down but not out, Brown City bounced back with a 1-0 sixth inning edge.

That made it 8-3, Capac, at the time.

Brown City then outscored Capac 4-0 during the seventh inning of play, only to fall by an 8-7 count when the final scores were added up.

Jon Botwin (a single, a double and a two-run homer) Matt Burgess (two singles and a double) and Jacob Zuby (a single and a triple) led Capac with multiple-hit performances. Vern Wilson and Ed Niemi (a single each) reached the hitting column as well. Mike Opificius added one RBI to the Chiefs' cause.
