ALMONT — Tasha Evans netted a career-high of 32 points and Nikki Heim finished with 13, including a trifecta, to lead host Almont to a 56-45 win against Armada in a Blue Water Area Conference varsity girls' basketball encounter last Friday night.
With the result, Almont ups its mark to 7-8 overall and 6-4 when they square off versus BWAC rivals.

In Friday's encounter, Almont jumped out to a 14-9 advantage after one quarter was complete.
Almont followed it up with a 20-10 second quarter edge.
That staked Almont to a 34-19 lead at the halftime break.
When the action resumed, Almont established even more breathing room.
Aided by an 11-9 third quarter edge, Almont forged a 45-28 lead at the 24-minute mark.
Armada then put together a 17-11 fourth quarter rally, only to drop a 56-45 verdict when the final buzzer sounded.
Besides the aforementioned duo, Almont received points from four other sources. Their ranks consisted of Jessica Moceri and Taylor Dziewit (four points each), Megan May (two) and Dani Reid (one).
Katelyn Holston paced Armada that evening. She finished with 17 points, draining a triple along the way.
