February 04, 2009
IMLAY CITY —The Downtown Development Authority is inviting all creators and consumers of fine cuisine to the 2009 Recipe Walk, this Saturday, Feb. 7, from 10 a.m.-1 p.m.

During those hours, attendees can visit participating downtown businesses and receive coupons whose value can be applied toward the purchase of the DDA's 2009 Recipe Book.

The new cookbook features an updated look and includes 70 recipes, compliments of local homemakers, cooks and business owners.

DDA Director Nancy Jean Brinker said 114 cookbooks were sold last year and expectations are for an even higher number of sales this year.

The 2009 Recipe Book can be purchased without the benefit of coupons for $5. The cost varies from $3 to $5, depending on the number of coupons collected from participating businesses. Coupons may be redeemed at All The Best Bridal salon, 200 E. Third St.

The holiday promotion is open to businesses outside the DDA district as well, and to organizations, families and individuals. Heart templates from previous years may also be used.
