Webb accumulates 12 points as Imlay City defeats Capac, 42-22

TRI-CITY AREA — Imlay City made host Capac absorb a 42-22 loss in a Blue Water Area Conference varsity girls' basketball clash last Friday night.

With the result, Imlay City goes to 2-6 and 1-3. Capac slips to 1-7 and 0-4.

In Friday's clash, Imlay City jumped out to a 9-4 advantage after one quarter was complete.

The second quarter would see Imlay City widen the gap.

Aided by an 8-2 advantage there, Imlay City took a 17-6 lead at the halftime break.

When the action resumed, Imlay City struck with a 15-9 third quarter advantage.

That made it 32-15, Imlay City, at the 24-minute mark.

Imlay City then outscored Capac 10-7 the rest of the way, good enough for a 42-22 win when the final buzzer sounded.

Taelor Webb led Imlay City with a 12-point performance. Anne Pawlaczyk hit for double figures as well, netting 10 points. The Spartans also received points courtesy of Millie Velez (six), Taylor Lee (five, featuring a trey), Brianna Jackman (four), Taylor Palermo (a triple) and Kelsey Bosch (two).

Ashley Mousseau paced Capac with five points. Their remaining points went to Cassie Spencer, Kaylee Green and Taylor Sinda (four points each), Courtney Baldwin and Gabby Sabatino (two apiece) along with Jamie Green (one).
