January 21, 2009 Never more than anytime in recent history has there been so much anticipation and hope surrounding the inauguration of a new president as there has with Barack Obama.
Much is placed on the shoulders of this single individual, who ran for office with the promise of change and hope for the future.
It is painfully obvious that both are desperately needed, regardless of one's party affiliations, religious beliefs, age, gender or socio-economic status.
Hope is necessary in order to effect change. Change is mandatory for the health of our country, but will not happen overnight.
With this in mind it is our hope that our nation's new president is up for the challenges he stepped into yesterday. We are hopeful that he will remain committed and determined to bring about the changes our country needs to strengthen our economy, educational and health care systems and global image.
We hope that all Americans will join together in anticipation of a brighter future, a common goal for the health and welfare of our nation.
